The Big Society is the flagship policy idea of the UK 2010 Conservative Party general election manifesto and form part of the legislative programme of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat Coalition Agreement.  The aim is "to creat a climate that empowers local people and communities, builiding a big society that will 'take power away from politicians and give it to the people.'

This diocese is organising or participating with a number of opportunities to try and understand and engage with these new policies.
