I have previously been a parish priest in inner city
Manchester, in urban areas of Bury and Bolton, College Chaplain, the Diocesan
Workplace Chaplain and an Associate Priest in the city centre of
Nottingham. Presently I combine my role as Associate
Director:Partnerships with being Priest in Charge of two rural
parishes.
The purpose of my role:

To ensure the diocese works well with other people,
other churches and other agencies outside the church
-
To facilitate parishes and deaneries in joining
with the mission of God by joining in the wider patterns of service to the
community.

And by the development of new projects and
initiatives in response to changing demographics and social
structures.

Serving community - a connection point with other
agencies and churches working together.

Enabling change - engages wtih regeneration at
individual, local, district, county/city and regional
levels
Areas of Priority:
- Engagement with Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP's) and
encouraging local/deanery activity with the implementation of Local Area
Agreements.
- Celebrating chaplaincy work as good models of partnership
activity across the diocese.
- Focus on work with New Communities (Migrant Workers) and
community cohesion - pssible project with City Council, NDC and Faiths in Action

- New Housing and Regeneration Links - Nottingham Regeneration
Ltd, Newark Future, Nottingham Business Venture
- Voluntary Sector Positioning - NAVO, NCVS, Nottingham Infrastructure
Consortium
- Championing the diocese as an umbrella organisation for Third
Sectory Activity
- Encourage strategic projects e.g. Worksop Priory, Retford, All Saints
NG7, Workplace
Chaplaincy, Arimithea Trust, Nottingham Community Prison Chaplaincy
- Assess resourcing of other areas of partnership e.g. Tourism,
arts. leisure and sport
- Support the Deaf
