Discipleship & Ministry Training

Formal Training for Ministry (Initial Ministerial Education - IME)

The Department for Development is responsible for supporting Clergy, Readers and Recognised Lay Ministers in their initial training before they are licensed or ordained and in the years immediately after.  Training for Reader Ministry and for other Recognised Lay Ministry Specialisms is done via the Diocesan Certificate Course.  Curate training is organised within the diocese, working to nationaly recognised criteria.

Continuing Ministerial Education and Development (CME)

We work with others to provide ongoing training for Clergy, Readers, Recognised Lay Minister and Lay people within our parishes via a programme of events and our CME Brochure is published annually.
