Bishop braved the elements on 5 day ‘prayer walk’

The Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham braved the elements across north Nottinghamshire when he undertook a 30 mile ‘prayer walk’ for five days through parishes, towns and the countryside.

The Rt Revd Paul Butler set out on Wednesday 25th May from one of the most northerly points of the diocese, near Robin Hood Airport and Finningley from where he walked to Bawtry market place, before visiting Harworth Church of England Primary School and Harworth itself.

The full programme took the Bishop through fields, woods, villages and market towns, where he met with people and be joined by fellow walkers for parts of the route.

He said: “The prayer walks I have done in the past have been a fantastic way to see the area, meet people and walk alongside others where they are and pray for the people and communities on the way.”
