New Bishop Prayers

Father God, thank you
for Bishop Paul and his family, Rosemary, Sarah and Andrew.
May your Holy Spirit look after them as they move to be with us,
and help Bishop Paul to teach us about Jesus,
to care for us
and to lead us in showing Jesus’ love in our lives.

Amen.

Almighty God,
you call us to different ministries in your Church.
From the whole people of God
you are calling your servant Paul to be Bishop of this diocese.
May he love you by loving Rosemary, Sarah and Andrew and all his family;
may he serve you by serving all the people of the diocese
whatever their ability, age, faith, or background;
may he let the little children come to you, helping them to fulfill their God given potential;
may he be a focus of unity so we may look beyond ourselves,
and all the families of the nations shall worship before the Lord.
Above all may he find humility, strength and courage in the cross of the risen Jesus Christ,
and let the Holy Spirit drive him into the world of temptation and testing
with Christian faith hope and love.
