Sabbatical

January – March 2008 gives me an opportunity to reflect on the past 6 years in the post and look to the future.

Plans include:

·        Research and resourcing how the church supports children who have parents with mental health problems

·        Analysis of the Children’s Work Audit and plans for the future

·        Sponsored bus trip from Land’s End to John ‘o Groats (see link)

·        Learning to touch type and play the trombone (to the standard I used to!)

·        Residential self-guided Retreat on Iona

Nick’s Toe to Top by Bus!

During January 2008 I will be doing an AMAZING trip by bus from home to the TOE (Land’s End) and home to the TOP (John o’Groats)

The rules are:

·        Must travel only by normal bus services

·        NO coach or pre-booked services

·        As many trips as possible on Stagecoach buses, kind sponsors

The journey will:

·        Last around 20 DAYS

·        Include around 100 DIFFERENT BUSES

·        Total about 140 TRAVELLING HOURS

I will be raising money for two charities:

·        CLIC Sargent, a charity that cares for children with cancer and their families. CLIC Sargent has greatly helped the family of Sylvia, my admin support, and her granddaughter for the past 3 years   (Charity No: 1107328)

·        PedraViva, a charity based in Mansfield to support children in need in Brazil.   Funds raised from the BUS journey will go towards a vital mini-bus for Brazil! (Charity No: 1095638)
