| Church & Schools : Developing Links Maureen and Adam are working to:
Maureen Collins (Church & Schools Link Officer- 2.5 days) Maureen's work includes SILC (Schools In Local Churches) project, website work and Foundation Governor Training, Affiliation & how churches can better link with all schools. Adam Boyes (Diocesan Schools Worker - 2.5 days) Adam's work includes working within the Hucknall Group of Churches & Schools, examing questions of Christian ethos & developing youth/schools work patterns. MITRE is a new project Maureen & Adam are developing - training and ideas for Churches in how to develop their work with children in their locality, particularly through schools. Click for more details. "One part of our role is to see how we can develop the important and outstanding work that is already being done through church schools in this diocese. We will be visiting schools as time progresses, not to inspect , but to learn! We want to be a conduit for good ideas. Where one church school has an excellent idea or a particular area of good practice, we want to be able to suggest that model for use in other church schools, so we all learn from each other for the greater good. We’re interested in bigger questions too, such as how the Christian ethos of the school gets into it’s everyday life? How does the ethos of the school impact the pupils, the staff, the families? What is the place of worship? What part does RE play? How do the church schools and the church interact? Is the school a place for mission and if so, how?"
