![]() Inter-Church Karting Challenge
The competitive kart race at the PFI Circuit south of Newark has been organised with the twin aims of raising awareness of the role of sport in outreach and to encourage sports minded Christians from across the diocese to get together. One of the brains behind the event, the Revd Simon Butler, who drives racing cars in his spare time, said: “Everyone should be aware this event is not for the faint-hearted! We’ll be using 70mph Pro-Karts on the UK’s top international spec outdoor kart circuit.” The event will run from 4 -9pm on 29th September 2007 at PFI Circuit, Marston, just off the A1 near Newark. The cost will be £250 per team of up to 5 drivers. Starting at 4pm sharp, when drivers will sign-in, the event will begin with a 30 minute practice/qualifying session at 4.30pm, with the race itself kicking-off at 5pm. Supporters are welcome as there are ample covered viewing facilities for guests, family, and friends. The race will be followed by food at a fixed cost of £5 per head and after the supper there will be a short service of worship. If you’d like to enter a team all you need to do is fill in the application form, also available on this website, and return it with a cheque payable to ‘Southwell & Nottingham Diocesan Board of Finance’ for the full cost of £250 as soon as possible.
The final closing date for entry forms is Aug 3rd 2007. Teams successful in gaining an entry will be notified immediately after the closing date. For details of how to get to the circuit please see www.tvkc-pfi.co.uk click on ‘Circuit’ then ‘Directions’. Download resources here |
