Natal News & Information
In January and February our Link within Natal took another step forward as we met to look at some of the practical ways that we can work together. One of the new initiatives is to identify parishes to develop links and share their ‘small story’ as part of the ‘big story’. We already have one parish who are doing this, and look forward to adding another couple of links between parishes over the next few months. We are also hoping to link schools, as well as building on the new friendship between Southwell Minster and Pietermaritzburg Cathedral. Another step forward is the production of our new publicity material, picking up the theme of ‘One Big Story, One Hundred Small Stories’ - a theme which Bishop Rubin was happy to endorse to his senior clergy in their Chapter Meeting in January. You should have seen the new poster and leaflets by now, if not ask at church, and use them to tell your story! This publicity material has a ‘sister’ set being distributed in Natal. As we reflect on the hospitality shared with the people of Southwell and Nottingham on our visit in January and February, we look forward to welcoming a group of young people from Natal in the first two weeks of July. If you can host a couple of them or would like to help with their visit in any way, please contact Barbara Holbrook. Other ways to join in with the Link Story are by joining us for the Natal Network Meeting on March 9th or inviting the Natal Trading team to your church fair this year. You can find out more by contacting Barbara. Please pray for the growing story of the Link, that it will continue to be a positive story which will challenge and enrich the lives of both Dioceses. Pray, too, for South Africa as the elections approach, that there will fairness in campaigning, peace during the election period and that the election results will bring good and fair government for all.
