A new mission centre including offices and conference accommodation are to be built in Southwell for the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham – offering new meeting rooms and office spaces for diocesan staff, various clergy and bishops. The new centre will be built on land near the current offices across the road from Southwell Minster and will be funded partly through the sale of the present listed offices, which will be restored and converted to apartments. The Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham, the Rt Revd Paul Butler, welcomed the new plans and said is was an exciting project which enabled the diocese to build confidently for the future. The building will enable staff to work together more effectively in resourcing the mission of the church and supporting the vital work of parish churches in local communities.
