All Hallows, Gedling Bank Holiday Coffee Morning 10.00am to 12 noon in Gedling Memorial Hall, Arnold Lane. A big selection of stalls, Fair Trade, Books, Cakes, Raffle and Games. 50p admission includes coffee and biscuits.

10 St Mary’s Church, Attenborough Open Day.  www.attenboroughchurch.org.uk  Come and and find out more about the church and the local community.  Enjoy live music, gardening advice, flower arranging demonstrations or bring your own hanging basket to be expertly filled at the all-day plant stall.  Tea and coffee.  Open: 10am-4.30pm. 

10,11 Flower Festival – All Hallows Church, Ordsall, Retford.  Open:  Sat. 11am-5pm, Sun: 12 noon-4pm with Songs of Praise at 6.30pm.  Cream Teas.

16-18 Newark Jazz Festival starts at St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Newark at 6.15pm.  Featuring New Orleans Gospel singer Shirley Alexander with Brian Carrick, plus Nathan Bray’s specially commissioned suite for jazz orchestra. 17 Prayer Walks with St Mary's, Attenborough - For further details:  The church office (tel. 0115 9259602: e-mail. mail@smca.fsworld.co.uk   meet at St Mary's church at 10.30am.  After a short introduction we shall walk on Attenborough Nature Reserve for about 1 and 1/4 hours; returning to St Mary's for lunch, if you have time.  Please bring your own picnic; tea. coffee and squash will be provided

18  Mothers’ Union World Wide Service.  Southwell Minster, 5pm.  Preacher: The Rt Revd Richard Inwood (Bishop of Bedford and M U Central Chaplain).  All banners will be carried.  Everyone welcome.
