‘God At work’ course for Nottingham businesses

A Christian investment banker will talk to some 250 Christian leaders and business people in Nottingham next week as part of the launch of a new initiative, called ‘God at Work - Living Every Day with a Purpose‘.

The Nottingham event, at County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, on Monday 9th February 2009 from 6:30 - 9:30pm, is one of many launches around the UK promoting the ‘God at Work’ course, aimed to help Christians in the workplace.

Workplace Chaplain and Associate Priest at Nottingham All Saints St Mary & St Peter, the Revd Alison Maddocks, said: “At last, a chance for Christians whose work matters to them to get together and explore what their faith really means in the midst of the everyday challenges of their work. Our guest speaker Ken Costa* will bring the wise, pragmatic voice of experience to this critically important subject.”

With an impact similar to the highly successful Alpha course predicted, this innovative six week programme is based on the bestselling book by Ken Costa. It equips Christians to find purpose in every aspect of their working life and to empower them to live this out with the utmost integrity and purpose. Course areas will include: Purpose at Work; Ambition & Life Choices; Work-Life Balance; Stress; Failure & Hope and How to Make Tough Decisions

Alison, one of the organizers of the local event, said: “We are expecting a big turnout for this, particularly with what is happening in the current economic climate and believe it has the potential to be a great evening of networking with churches and businesses!”

Admission to the launch, plus all food and drink, will be FREE. Entrance is by on-line registration only on a first come first served basis. It will not be possible to gain entrance on the night without pre-registering.
