Bishop to tour a Notts eco farm
Eco-farming will be the focus of the Bishop of Sherwood’s visit next week when he will take a close look at a farm in East Drayton, near Retford, specialising in bio-fuel.
The Bishop, the Rt Revd Tony Porter, will spend time touring the farm and learning about renewable energy from a farming perspective, as part of a day spent in the Retford area with clergy and church members on Monday 11th May 2009.
Photo Opportunity: There will be opportunities for photos with the Bishop at the farm around 2.30pm during his visit at GD Strawson Farm at East Drayton.
The Bishop will enjoy a tour of the site, when he will be shown how they grow bio-fuel, and he will also have a chance to see their wind generator and an exhibition of eco friendly house construction materials.
The visit is one of a series of community visits the bishop has planned for the coming months across the county.
