Visitors to Southwell Ploughing Match at Kneesall this weekend will have a chance to join in creating a unique legacy for the future, by adding their own verses to a national handwritten version of the Bible. The Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham are joining up with the Bible Society to host a ScribePod at their event trailer at the show, where people will be invited to add their own verses to those written by people around the country for ‘The People’s Bible’. The People’s Bible is a joint venture between Bible Society in England and Wales and the Scottish Bible Society, which aims to create a unique legacy for future generations. Anyone who visits the diocese’s event stand, will get to visit a ScribePod, play with the iPad-based scribe stations, write on digital paper with a pen with a built-in camera and see their handwriting streamed live on a big screen. The nation-wide project began at Edinburgh Castle on 19th June 2011, the anniversary of the birth of King James VI/I at the castle in 1566 and will end at Westminster Abbey on 16th November 2011, at the end of its tour of cities and communities around the country.
