The Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham, the Rt Revd George Cassidy, paid tribute to his fellow East Midlands bishop, the Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Revd Ian Cundy, who died yesterday, on Thursday 7th May 2009, shortly before he was due to retire.  “Bishop Ian was one of the first bishops to welcome me into the region as a new colleague 10 years ago and I have really valued his friendship. He played a key role in ecumenical relations nationally and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are now with his wife Jo and all the family at this very sad time.”
