Seed Scattering

The vision of Seed Scattering began in 2006 and is about encouraging parishes to scatter the seed of the Gospel in practice.

Bishop Tony explains...

Mark 4:3 Listen! A Farmer went out to sow his seed.

In this parable, there is disappointment,
v.4 some fell along the path
v.5 some fell on the rocky places
v.7 others seed fell among thorns.

But, Praise the Lord, there is also encouragement,
v. 8 other seed fell on good soil.

Every parish church is called to ‘Scatter the Seed’ of the Gospel. The outcome may be deeper links with the commmunity or people coming to faith in Jesus Christ for the first time.
v.9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Bishop Tony took part in six Seed Scattering Weekends in 2010 in very different communities. The lay people of the parishes organised the events with the support of the clergy.
